Treatment Approaches

Therapeutic Modalities

Evidence-based approaches that honor the complexity of human experience and the power of healing relationships.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

My Primary Modality

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a powerfully transformative, evidence-based model of psychotherapy. It views the mind as naturally multiple—made up of different "parts" that each have their own perspectives, feelings, and roles.

Rather than pathologizing these parts, IFS helps us understand them with curiosity and compassion. When we learn to listen to our parts and access our core Self—our innate capacity for calm, clarity, and connection—profound healing becomes possible.

IFS Level 2 Trained

I have completed advanced IFS training and served as a Program Assistant for multiple IFS Institute training programs.

Effective For

Trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family of origin wounds, and helping people reconnect with their authentic self.

Additional Modalities

Trauma-informed approaches that complement and enhance IFS work

Brainspotting

Body-Based Trauma Processing

Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing, and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional and physical pain, trauma, and dissociation.

By using the visual field and the body's felt sense, Brainspotting helps access parts of the brain where trauma is stored—often beyond the reach of talk therapy alone.

Particularly helpful for: PTSD, acute trauma, performance anxiety, and physical symptoms related to unresolved trauma.

AEDP

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy

AEDP is a transformational, attachment-based approach that focuses on undoing aloneness and fostering secure attachment. It helps clients access and work through difficult emotions in a safe, relational environment.

By tracking moments of transformation and positive change, AEDP accelerates healing and helps clients experience core emotions that lead to lasting change.

Particularly helpful for: Attachment wounds, relational trauma, emotional avoidance, and building capacity for intimacy and connection.

Family Systems Theory

Relational & Systemic Perspective

Family Systems Theory teaches that none of us exist in isolation. Our emotions, behaviors, and patterns are shaped in the context of our relationships—especially our early ones.

With the soul of a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I bring a systems lens to all my work—recognizing that when one part of the system changes, the whole system shifts.

Particularly helpful for: Family conflict, parent-child relationships, understanding patterns from family of origin, and seeing how past dynamics show up in present relationships.

EFT

Emotionally Focused Therapy

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals and couples understand and transform emotional responses and attachment patterns in relationships.

EFT recognizes that emotions are key to how we understand ourselves and how we connect with others. By identifying and reshaping emotional responses, we can create more secure bonds and healthier relationship patterns.

Particularly helpful for: Relationship distress, attachment issues, communication problems, and helping couples and families create stronger emotional connections.

A Trauma-Informed, Relational Approach

Across all modalities, I bring a warm, grounded, and relational style to therapy—combining clinical insight with compassion and genuine human connection.

My approach is deeply informed by an understanding of trauma and how it lives in the body, the brain, and our relational patterns. I work collaboratively with you to create a safe space where healing can happen at your own pace.

"I bring a healthy dose of braggadocio about all things Texas, a deep respect for the therapy process, and an unwavering belief in your capacity for healing and growth."
