Teeline IFS
Parts Tracker

(TIFS)

How It Came to Be

This system is inspired by a personal memory of my grandmother, a career secretary who kept shorthand manuals on her bookshelf. Her skill with shorthand came back to me recently while reflecting on how best to document Internal Family Systems (IFS) sessions—clearly, quickly, and discreetly. That spark led me to research Teeline shorthand and adapt it into a structured tool for therapeutic use. The rest, as they say, is history.

Why TIFS?

As therapists, we often need to record subtle shifts in parts, affect, and Self-energy—without interrupting the session's flow or pulling us out of presence. The Teeline IFS Parts Tracker (TIFS) offers a creative solution:

🖊

Rapid notation that doesn't interrupt client attunement

📋

Discreet tracking of parts, emotions, age, and blending

🧭

Symbols and structure to reduce cognitive load mid-session

💡

A blend of tradition and innovation, rooted in the wisdom of shorthand and the clarity of IFS

Whether you use it for live session tracking or post-session documentation, TIFS can enhance your efficiency and deepen your clinical insight.
